Die D\u00f6rfer an der Peripherie von Bethlehem sind bekannt f\u00fcr ihre alten Olivenb\u00e4ume. Tats\u00e4chlich befindet sich der \u00e4lteste bekannte Olivenbaum der Welt im Dorf Al Walaja am Rande dieser heiligen Stadt. Diese B\u00e4ume sind begehrt, weil ihr Olivenholz<\/a> einen exotischen Wurzelbaum hat. Diese B\u00e4ume werden zweimal im Jahr beschnitten, um sicherzustellen, dass sie weiterhin pralle Oliven zum Einlegen und Pressen produzieren.
